The Toyol

Little Big Film Company and Open Fire Films will co-produce THE TOYOL, a psychological horror film inspired by an eerie Malay folktale. The film will be directed by Brian Kazmarck and is to be produced by Russell Southam and Brian Smith. The feature is tentatively scheduled to begin shooting in Spring 2014.

Film Synopsis:
A father attempts to reconnect with his six-year-old daughter in the wake of his wife's sudden and tragic death. Traumatized, the young girl retreats from her family only to find solace in a new and peculiar little friend who enters her life. A number of gruesome and untimely accidents leave neighbors and family members dead with only one thing in common: the daughter is the last to see them alive.
With evidence mounting and his daughter the prime suspect, her father must race to uncover the real culprit and save them both.

Talented director Brian Kazmarck has signed on after his success with TERMINAL LEGACY (2012) and will direct INTELLIGENT DESIGN, a new feature slated for 2015. Another up and coming talent is Brian Smith who, after reading the initial script, agreed to join the team and help produce this exciting and original story. Producer Russell Southam is known for his involvement in numerous indie horror features from INVASION OF THE NOT QUITE DEAD (2013), SURVIVORS (2013), ZOMBIE WOMEN OF SATAN 2 (2013) and BUNYIP (2013) and met with both Kazmarck and Smith through Terminal Legacy. The trio are about to scout for locations both in the US and Asia with a fantastic crew coming together. Discussions over casting will commence shortly with updates to appear as the project progresses.
