Tartarus

“the visuals the author conjures up… will leave you wanting to switch more lights on”

“you won’t expect to be outsmarted by this book, but you will be”

“Tartarus will take you down deeper than you’ve ever been before”

“readers will find themselves shouting for the next installment”

“ever wondered what would happen if The Exorcist, Constantine, True Blood, and Tomb Raider got together and created a book-baby? Well… the answer is Tartarus”

Wow, that is an amazing combination! So the book is about…

Hate is a strong word. But you’ve never met Diane Stillman.
After Britain’s war in 1996 between the Humans and the “Freaks”, a damaged Diane Stillman is left with the rubble of what was her life. Living above a putrid world where she knows her sister’s killer hides, her existence revolves around retribution. Tartarus- the Underground City of the Vampires- the freaks- a place with their own rules and regulations.

With Government becoming deaf and dumb to her pleas for help, and constant Night Terrors of a figure she calls, “The Man”, Diane moves to the decaying world below to track her sister’s executioner herself.

But eyes follow her in choking black ink of Tartarus and something is determined to find her first. Unknowingly hunted for being last of the mysterious Stillman bloodline, and finding herself auctioned off as a blood-whore to a possessive Vampire Lord, Diane finds herself starting to evolve into the very thing she’s afraid of.

A monster…

Dr. Gangrene said of the festival, “I'm excited to partner with Culture Cringe for the Heebie Jeebies film festival. They've been doing some exciting events in Murfreesboro, and their energy and enthusiasm will help make this an exciting event!”

Films will be screened September 29th 2012 at 3 Brothers Deli and Brewhouse located in the heart of Murfreesboro Tennesee, followed by an Award Scaremony honoring the best of the festival. People just picking up a camera and shooting something that scares them, inspires them, makes them laugh, whatever. We want something different. It doesn’t have to be slick to make a good movie. I honestly just love the idea of friends running around in back yards and city streets making monster movies for the hell of it. Thats the stuff I want to see! ”

Films must be 22 minutes in length or less, horror themed,  and meet TV decency standards. The contest is open to U.S. and Canadian citizens. Submissions must be received by August 22, 2012 A full list of rules can be found at http://heebiejeebiesfilmfest.blogspot.com

Controversial indie film "LITTLE BIG BOY" finally coming to DVD!

Controversial independent horror comedy "LITTLE BIG BOY: THE DEATH STALKER MURDERS" (formerly "Little Big Boy: The Rise and Fall of Jimmy Duncan") is finally getting a proper DVD release. The film has been in the works for a long time but controversy have so far prohibited it from coming out. This is about to change now, as the film will be released onto DVD on August 21 from Worldwide Multimedia, http://wwmm.info/

“Little Big Boy” tells the story of acclaimed horror film director Jimmy Duncan, infamous for his psychotic temper and his unique brand of exploitative movies. Having witnessed the murder of his mother at the age of seven, Duncan grew up in an orphanage and then worked his way up in the movie industry. Caught up in the downward spiral of his own success, surrounded by movie reviewers who refused to acknowledge his obvious talent, starlet wannabes with zero ability to act, producers with little patience, and those who will exploit anyone to become famous in a soul eating industry, we follow Jimmy while he is working on his latest feature film “Death Stalker.” The shoot quickly turns into a descent into insanity when his leading lady leaves the production halfway through shooting the film. Haunted by his childhood experiences, Duncan finds himself in an abyss from which there is no return.

Featuring Troma’s Lloyd Kaufman; April Monique Burril (Chainsaw Sally, Good Sisters); Monique Dupree (Satan Hates You, Spirit); Megan Sacco (Avantgarde); Amy Lynn Best (A Feast of Flesh, Splatter Movie); Rachel Grubb (Terror Overload, Strip Club Slasher); Brandon Slagle (Methodic, Mega Shark vs Crocosourus); David C. Hayes (Blood Moon Rising, Slices); Keith Collins (Non Compos Mentis, Killer Hoo-Ha!); Manoush (Amelie from Montmatre, Le Petite Morte); Gry Bay (All About Anna); Melany Denise (Westbrick Murders); reality stars/celebrity models Katrine Poulsen and Jessica Sky; and many others. The role as Jimmy’s daughter is played by teenage talent Nicolette Michaela. In addition to brief cameos by Playboy models Angelina Leigh and Nikki Magnusson. The troubled film maker Jimmy Duncan is played by Kim Sønderholm who also directed the film, while his younger self is played by Danish actor-rapper Toke Lars Bjarke, well known for his performance in 2011's Best Foreign Picture Academy Award Winner and Golden Globe Winner "In A Better World".

Director Kim Sønderholm about the film "The "Little Big Boy" project started out as an experiment very much inspired by the documentary "Overnight" about the making of "Boondock Saints". I found that film very interesting and thoughts about making a fictional documentary - or mockumentary if you will - started buzzing around in my head. I wanted to infuse some of the somewhat toe crumbling humor known from sitcoms such as "The Office" and before I knew it I had a script and started shooting and luckily a lot of great people were keen on the idea - without them I would never have succeeded.

It's probably gonna cause a lot of controversy and I know a lot of people are instantly gonna be turned off by it and hate it automatically, but I also know the opposite to be true - I know a lot of people are gonna find it hysterical and hopefully even thought provocating. I know I had a blast making the film although it's very different from anything you've probably ever seen and I hope that enthusiasm shines through. Having said that, this is a one-off for me, at this point I don't know if I will ever direct another film but if I do, it will be back to straight fiction for me. As fun as this film has been to make, as big was the nightmare - especially getting it released to the public, a task that has taken me well over two and a half years. But I am happy to say I finally found a distribution company I felt could carry the task with grace and take it in the right direction. So... Without further due - make sure you get the film - out August 21! ..and enjoy!"

Fall Leaves and the Black Dragon

“a scary, keep you on the edge of your seat story”

“a masterful job of getting the reader to flow with the story”

“filled with all sorts of twists and turns and the ending completely took me by surprise”

“a coming of age tale that is sure to tug on your heart strings as it's sending a chill down your spine”

“left me in goosebumps and I had to fight the urge to look under my bed that night before going to sleep”

Wow, this book has people checking under their beds! It sounds frightening, but what is it about:

Imagine the horrors of growing up not knowing who you are. When Liam was six, he survived a devastating fire, a horrific past that won’t leave him alone.

Literally.

Secrets that should have burned away long ago haunted him for years and ruined his childhood.

Demons want him dead.

Voices beckon to him in the night.

At the brink of insanity, Liam heads back to confront the ghosts of his past and gain control of his life.

Every step of the way something evil is trying to stop him.

This dark coming of age journey reveals a truth more horrifying than the huge fire he lived through as a child.

A truth that threatens many lives.

No need to check under my bed because that description has me afraid to even go into my bedroom. After you check under your bed, get a copy of this book today at:

Beneath

Amy is looking forward to a quiet evening with her fiance Robert. However, someone else has different plans for her. With her boyfriend nowhere to be found and a mysterious intruder lurking around the house, Amy has no choice but to hide. Stuck in the third storey bedroom, phone line cut, and no sign of help in sight... Amy has to watch unthinkable things from under her bed. Will he find her? Will she make it out alive? And what will be left of her if she does? Both an original concept and a tip of the hat to old school horror, Beneath is a horror movie told from the point of view of under a bed for almost the entire film. A slow build horror film in vein of The Shining, Psycho, and House of the Devil, Beneath doesn't substitute blood and gore for character development and sheer suspense.

Wow, Beneath can be a film like The Shining, or Psycho! Sounds awesome but before that can happen, they need your support. Please click the pic, and help make this film happen today!

There are several great perks for making a pledge. Here are just a few:

-A  Beneath poster
-A special thanks in the credits!
-An invite to the cast and crew screening

From Darkness

“fresh proof that the art of horror fiction remains alive and well”

“an entertaining, suspenseful read, featuring an effectively gloomy air of creepiness, some truly stimulating moments of gruesomeness…”

“the horrors are gruesome enough to delight hard-core horror fans”

“much more than just another haunted house novel”

Several mentions of gruesome! That is what some horror fans are looking so what is this book about:

From darkness evil stalks us. Living outside our light, retreating into darkness, never fully of our world. Only in our dreams and darkest corners of our existence does it approach boldly. We glance nervously into the dark pockets of the hallway after extinguishing the lights, the glow of the bedroom lamp the only beacon at the end of it. What could possibly reach out from the darkness to get us? Our imaginations and nightmares know. Do you?

From Darkness is a story of evil commanding an entrance into this world. A young woman’s battle to stop it—her sister, whom she loves, its target. From a small dark hole in a wall behind a washer in a basement, the nightmare emerges. A nightmare that visited this basement before and the people who live on Orca Island. An evil deified and forgotten, returning once again from darkness to devour the light.

AiZ: Alice in Zombieland

“Alice in Zombieland is a thrilling read”

“would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys zombies and quality writing”

“very enjoyable”

“explored the world of zombies from a realistic standpoint”

"I hope there will be a sequel. I'm hooked"

This book is so good a “zombie-hater has been converted.” That’s right, it even has people who aren’t into zombies reading it. So what is it about:

William Lohman, a recently deceased man, held an interview that was seen by the entire world. In this interview, he told of how the largest pharmaceutical company in the world, Roslun Global, has been conducting secret experiments meant to revive the dead, among other atrocities. Mr. Lohman was taken quite seriously seeing as how he was obviously one of these experiments, what with the decay and all.

This interview knocked over the first domino in a long series of setbacks for Roslun Global, and the company’s greedy CEO Richard Roslun. Richard was not known for being subtle or calm, but he was known for getting results…at any cost.

Nine years has passed since that historic interview changed the world forever. People have learned to live with the idea of zombies, much the same way they learn to live with many modern diseases; it’s a terrible thing, but it doesn’t affect them. Until it does, that is.

Georgia ‘Gee’ Marie is a typical college student. She enjoys reading and hanging out with her friends, smoking a little weed and going to work. Her life is pretty mundane, until she returns one day to visit her father. Gee finds her younger sister being attacked by her mother, who has just finished feasting on the rest of the family. Gee and Alice are about to begin the greatest trials of their lives. Not only will their will to survive be tested, but the bonds that hold them together as family and loved ones will be pushed to their limits.

Gee and Alice are not the only ones to be affected by the terrible actions of Richard Roslun. Sam Ashe and his fiancée, Heather Young, have just moved to a nice neighborhood in Seattle. Their new neighborhood is beautifully manicured, right down to the last tree lining the street. This area was chosen for its aesthetics, but also for its safety. According to several of Sam’s favorite zombie reporting sites, a very low number of incidents have been reported here.

This is why Sam is caught off guard one night after an intense gaming session when he sees a shambling zombie. Thinking of his love, he heads off to save Heather from the inevitable zombie outbreak about to occur. Their path is not an easy one, and again, human emotions will be stretched to the limit. If you have ever been in love, and I mean true love, then Sam and Heather’s tale will grab you by the heartstrings and never let go.

Hopefully that expanded description has you ready to start reading. There are several ways to get your hands on ‘AiZ: Alice in Zombieland,’ including a special limited edition. If you absolutely can’t wait to read it, you can get an e-book copy today at:

**OUT ON MONDAY** A BRAND NEW SCORE BY ACCLAIMED MUSICIAN NITIN SAWHNEY "THE LODGER" BY NITING SAWHNEY

CHECK DISCS AVAILABLE

A SMALL NUMBER OF SIGNED LIMITED EDITION POSTERS TO GIVEAWAY

"THE LODGER" OUT 23rd JULY 2012, RRP £14.99

Network Releasing will issue a new soundtrack of the silent Alfred Hitchcock classic THE LODGER, composed and performed by acclaimed, multi-award winning musician and composer Nitin Sawhney with the London Symphony Orchestra. The soundtrack will be available to own on 23 July 2012, RRP £14.99 and coincides with a world premiere of a digital restoration of THE LODGER. This has been lovingly restored and will screened in conjunction with the new score at the Barbican on 21 July 2012 courtesy of Network Releasing and the BFI.

Alfred Hitchcock’s first thriller, “The Lodger: The Story of the London Fog” was made in 1926 and written by Eliot Stannard. It stars matinee heartthrob Ivor Novello as a mysterious lodger suspected of being the serial killer known as the Avenger, who has a taste for young blondes. He rents a room at the Brownings’, whose daughter happens to be dating the detective investigating the murders. Made for the then newly created Gainsborough Studios THE LODGER was heavily influenced by the German expressionist movement and films such as “The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari” and “Nosferatu”. Such inspiration can be seen in Hitchcock’s stylized angular shots and heavy use of light and show, which are designed to reflect the mental states of the characters. THE LODGER has been digitally restored from the existing negatives and is set for theatrical release on 10th August 2012, followed by the Blu-ray and DVD in September 2012.

Talking about the new score Sawhney says, “I always hoped to follow in the footsteps of the great Hitchcock composer, Bernard Hermann.  He has been one of my major heroes and influences since I was a kid. What I find amusing is that, since I am scoring a silent Hitchcock film from 1927, Bernard Hermann will now posthumously follow in my footsteps instead!  As a long serving judge for the Ivor Novello awards I was delighted to be scoring the one Hitchcock film that features Ivor Novello himself.  A film that has all the earmarks of a genius director making his first foray into the world of suspense, this is a gift to score and I am enjoying the process more than I even imagined.  I can’t wait to hear the London Symphony Orchestra play it.”

The world premiere of the newly restored The Lodger, with the live score performed by Nitin Sawhney and the London Symphony Orchestra will take place at The Barbican on July 21st.
