Balls
for Brooklyn is a horror/comedy film following a group of friends on a culinary
adventure through the NYC restaurant scene. Chef Phil and his pal Gwain quite
their low-level bistro jobs to seek the fame, fortune, and satisfaction of
owning their own dining establishment.
In
order to fund their endeavor, they seek out Petie, an acquaintance from their
youth. Petie's limited intelligence, questionable social skills, and loose
grasp of reality make him the ideal partner in their quest. His recent influx
of cash doesn't hurt things either.Fate proves to be against them when a
business meeting turns into a celebration...which ends with a dead body. The
last thing this trio needs is a murder investigation stinking up the joint. In
order to keep their dream alive, they'll have deal with this the only way cooks
can. Order up!
Can
this underdog team find success and prove their culinary chops? Can they keep
their cool and keep their secret ingredient underground? Brooklyn's favorite
meatballs aren't exactly a old family recipe, but to pull this off, one thing
remains true: You gotta have balls!
Balls
for Brooklyn is currently in pre-production, with principal photography set to
begin this spring in Brooklyn, NY. Artist/actor Shawn James, who fans may
remember from Zombie Bohemia, is reuniting with Brando in a starring role.
Balls for Brooklyn also pairs Brando back up with a stellar team: Director of
Photography Chris Magdalenski (Hushed, Zombie Bohemia), Assistant Director
Crystal Hunkin (Hushed), and Audio Engineer Brian Chickerino (Hushed, Zombie
Bohemia).
This
film is expected to play on the film festival circuit late 2015 and 2016, with
a hope for distribution shortly following.
