Award-winning female director kicks serious monster butt at this year's Toronto After Dark Film Fest (Oct.20 screening)

Award-winning Toronto-based director, TRICIA LEE, brings her scary creature feature SILENT RETREAT to this year's Toronto After Dark Film Fest, where it screens Sunday Oct. 20 at the Scotiabank Theatre (4:15pm).

Silent Retreat is a creature feature that tells the story of Janey Andrews, a first time criminal offender, who is sent to a facility in the middle of the woods to be rehabilitated. The men who run the retreat ask for complete silence from the inmates but Janey soon discovers they are brainwashing the women to be quiet and submissive. When the women don’t comply, the men aren’t afraid to show them what lurks beyond the trees and Janey realizes that the only way to survive the horror is to scream!

Toronto After Dark has proven to be one of the world’s most exciting and cutting edge genre festivals since its debut in 2006 and Tricia brings a much-needed female perspective on the horror genre.
