Seven Eves Horror Film Festival Student Project

So here is a first for PromoteHorror.com: a request to promote a college project. Of course we couldn’t say no, so here is part of Mike Hannon’s Final Major Graphic Design University project. The project is about a fictional Horror Film Festival that he branded and created a theme and artwork for.

Seven Eves Horror Film Festival

Brief: Create a film festival that required a name, identity, brochure and advertising.

My research led me to the Rorschach test; a psychoanalytical test in which patients' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analysed to gain a deeper insight into an individuals psychological state.

My concept was to use psychoanalysis to interpret iconic horror film characters using inkblots, encouraging the viewer to share what they see and act as psychiatrists conducting the Rorschach test . The theme of psychoanalysis runs throughout the identity of the festival and the film's characters are therefore referred to as patients.

A viral campaign for the event uses the inkblots, releasing them online in the run-up to the festival to generate a buzz.

By the way, if I was grading it, I would give it an A+!
