Los
Angeles, CA (April 29, 2013) – Actress and producer Jennifer Blanc-Biehn has
wrapped filming ahead of schedule on her directorial debut of the digital feature, The Night Visitor.
With
nine actors, a seven person crew, and a shoe-string budget made up almost 50%
in trade dollars, Blanc-Biehn along with Streamy Award winning producer Mark
Gantt (THE BANNEN WAY), and Lony Ruhmann who Executive Produced alongside
Blanc-Biehn, wrapped filming The Night Visitor in just five days, one full day
ahead of schedule.
“The sheer idea of shooting a feature in six days, with less than two
weeks to prep and not one role cast or one crew person hired, is cause for
pause.” says Gantt, “But there is something
about just saying yes and knowing that everything you've done up to this point
was for a reason. We knew that between Jennifer, Brianne and myself, we could
pull together an amazing cast and crew. Jennifer's passion is contagious and we
all worked well together.”
The
Night Visitor is a unique mix of sci-fi and horror, lensed with the found
footage style that has become popular in the genres. “I don't think
there’s another story out there like this one, I'm super excited about bringing
something, maybe a little bit different but in a style that people seem
to like,” says
Blanc-Biehn.
The
Night Visitor stars, actress and executive producer Brianne Davis (PROM NIGHT,
AMONG FRIENDS, JARHEAD), “I knew how good of a producer Mark is and knew the
drive that Jennifer had, so I felt confident that we'd be able to create
something very unique and creative, regardless of the budget and schedule
restraints. I'm very proud of The Night Visitor and what we were able to
accomplish.”
The film is currently in the editing room and has just launched a Kickstarter Campaign to
raise post-production costs for The Night Visitor. “It’s coming out
fantastic,” says Blanc-Bien, “I've got a great core group
of talented crew and actors that I've been working with, I knew that we'd be
able to pull this together quickly and turn out a great project. I
think it’s going to be even better than I thought it was gonna be, especially
when you think about the time frame we had with this movie. I realized I was
able to tell a story, I'm sitting here in the editing room saying to Mark, we
have a story here!”
Blanc-Biehn
says the film’s star, Brianne Davis “was not only perfect for the part, but
I've worked with her before and she's a total pro, super talented and comes
with great ideas.” Also in the ensemble are Gary Cairns (BLACK
BUTTERFLIES, HERO WANTED, JUSTIFIED), Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (DARK ANGEL, WRONG
COPS, THE VICTIM), Mark Gantt (THE BANNEN WAY, OCEAN’S 11), Vedette Lim (TRUE
BLOOD, HALO4), and Tara Buck (TRUE BLOOD, JUSTIFIED, TOMORROW YOU’RE GONE). “The
entire cast blew me away, Gary brings an authentic vulnerability, Vedette is
powerful and sexy and Tara is delicious as Hilda,” added Blanc-Biehn.
Initially
the film was to be made outside the Blanc Biehn Productions, but Michael Biehn
quickly agreed that it should be under the Blanc Biehn Productions
shingle. "Jennifer has such a clear vision for this movie and
assembled a great team to support her, I've been completely impressed with how
smoothly this production has gone and am excited to be a part of it,” says
Michael Biehn.
