Jerry Horror

For years, starting in 2003, using the monkier "Justice", Gerald Furnari was a dominant force in the New York indie Hip-Hop scene. After years of winning battles, deejaying and college radio tours, he became disillusioned with making music. Feeling his was a voice, that simply would not be heard, like most youths, he had unfortunately turned to crime. For every 24 hours, there's a new hustle, a new victim, to be found every second of every day.

In 2008, Gerald Furnari was given the name "Jerry Horror" by a now dead, junkie ex-girlfriend, whom overdosed on Heroin after a subsequent occult gathering. This was due to an increasingly morbid fascination with all things macabre. Adorned in Tattoo's ranging from Freddy Krueger to Lon Chaney, to even at one point sleeping in a morgue on a bet. Venturing into Urban Exploration and Paranormal Investigation had become an obssesion. Jerry was fascinated and perhaps crossing moral and ethical boundaries.

The desire to make music still burned deep inside. Lack of funding, connections, access to a studio and no original beats to work with; compounded his frustration.

Flash to early 2009, after resorting to illegal means, Jerry bought a used laptop at a local pawn shop, He learned, toiling day and night, just how to craft beats. His influences ranged from Depeche Mode to DJ Premier to form an eclectic sound he dubbed "Ghetto Gothic". From Slayer to The Smiths, from Wu-Tang to Public Enemy. A sound, world view and lifestyle had blossomed out of concrete.

Caught up in a very volatile profession, Jerry found leaving his former ways behind him, was easier said than done.

In May of 2011 Jerry Horror met DJ WHITEHOT, the two formed an instant friendship and began work on full length album. The album was to be a love letter to all the sleazy Horror films of the 1970's and 80's. With WHITEHOT behind the boards, the two worked feverishly into September of 2011 to deliver something new. As if the bastard child of a DMX and Rob Zombie, they pioneered the "Ghetto Gothic" sound.

Finally on October 31st, 2011, Jerry Horror would independently drop "The Slasher LP."

Like any good horror movie, there is always a sequel! Dropping June 2, 2012 is:
