Monster Mash for Literacy Bash VII – Día de Muertos

Día de Muertos is a celebration of the living to honor the Lively Dead. We’ll gather to remember those – the Good, the Great, and the Awesome – who have passed through the Veil, into the Clearing, and kicked the Bucket before us. It’s a party, after all, so bring your dancing shoes and a healthy case of Boogie Fever. Toast the Honored at la ofrenda and leave your own offering and/or photo (of course you can have it back) and then party among the Presently Passed with traditional food, wicked drinks, and music to rattle your bones.

Proceeds benefit the Dominican Literacy Center and the Sienna Literacy Center, and we are proud to make them our permanent charities, ensuring that people of all ages discover the magic and power of reading as well as improve their lives with a strong educational foundation.

Contest for the best calaveras y calacas, as well as a Boner (our statuette) for best couple will be awarded.

We’ve prepared special drinks to aid in communicating with those inhabiting the Great Beyond and there will be a 50/50 raffle to line your own future coffin.

You’ll honor us by honoring Them at Berkley VFW Post 9222, November 1, 2014, gates at 8:00 p.m.

21+ please.  $7.00 in advance and $10 at the door.

Advance Ticket Purchasers will also  receive ten (10) free tickets to the Penny Social for a chance at fantastic gifts and autographed books.

Be sure to also enter our Special Auction where the lucky winner will have the authors of GLAHW craft mini-anthology where every story features the Winner’s name – be the hero, be the villain, die a horrible death (note: the fate entirely is in the hands of the writers). The debut edition, Amanda’s Recurring Nightmares, was a phenomenal hit!

**You do not have to dress calaveras y calacas to attend, but we would love to see your bony grin!
