Samhain's London May to Play Detective in Horror Short "Massacre"

06/24/2014 Los Angeles, CA
LONDON MAY, known for his role as drummer/bass player in the legendary Samhain - Glenn Danzig's post-Misfits and pre-Danzig death-rock infused horror punk band - has been cast in a different kind of role - this time as a Detective. Briefly stepping away from the drum kit and guitars, the musician and actor, trained in both improv and theater, recently made his Los Angeles stage debut in ‘The Duchess of Malfi’, and has now signed on to short slasher flick MASSACRE, a bloody, independent horror film directed by Joe Hendrick (Ditch Day Massacre, Skitta Merink) and produced by Michel Rangel (Smiley, Instructions Not Included).

Director Joe Hendrick on casting May as the Detective:

"London May was in character the moment we shook hands for the first time in the parking lot - it was clear he had done his homework. With every question of detail, every question regarding character quirks, London May either gave me the answer I had been looking to hear or an answer that showed me this guy is going to bring more to the table than what I can with this character... When I hire an actor I want to hire someone that I can collaborate with - someone that I can trust - and London May is an actor who I immediately knew I could trust to become this character."

MASSACRE centers around Marianne James, played by New Zealand actress, writer and Suicide Girl,Pandie Suicide (Ditch Day Massacre, David Lynch’s “Crazy Clown Time”), a young woman who wakes up at the site of a grisly mass murder and can’t remember what happened. This unique film, which is currently prepping to go into production this July via Minonina Films, features both a female writer, as well as a female producer and will see the lead female role taking a slight departure from a more traditional female horror role.

When she was ten she made a promise to that which inhabits the winter storm. Now she’s twenty-six and pregnant, and the White Walker has returned to collect his due.

For Teddy his first day as shift supervisor could not have come at a worst time. A severe blizzard has shut down the region as old man winter refuses to relinquish his grip. Only ten percent of his team have shown up for work, and he learns upon arriving that one of his first duties that day will be to fire his girlfriend.

He believes it can’t get any worse than it already is. That is until one of his people dies at the hands of a legendary creature that inhabits the blizzard. A prehistoric deity once worshipped by ancient man on the vast Siberian plains. Brought to these shores by Russian immigrants seeking a better life in the deep coalmines that once dotted the hills around the Appalachian Mountain town of Frostburg.

Cut off from the outside world, stalked by a creature from the past, the survivors are forced to abandon the safety of a building that has been stressed to the breaking point.

Kids Get Dead 2: The Kids Get Deader

“You’re going to have a helluva lot of fun!”

“When you want a fun horror film, this is exactly what you are looking for.”

“Good fun and a great benchmark for the retro slasher genre”

Kids Get Dead 2: The Kids Get Deader is a return to the classic midnight movie slasher genre featuring horror hostess Peaches McNeil (Samantha Glovin). It continues where part one left off. After years of nightmares and therapy sessions Casey (Leah Rudick) sets out to find the author of a mysterious novel that foretold the brutal murder of her brother at the hands of a masked maniac.

Meanwhile it’s all boobs, blood and rock ‘n’ roll for a group of teenagers at a house party. All except for Brian (Bradley Creanzo) who is buried in Charles Carver’s (Steve Buja) latest novel. When the crazed killer (Alexander Kollar) returns to slaughter their sexcapades with blood- splattering similarity found within the novel Brian and Casey must struggle to unseal their own fates before it’s too late.

Are they just characters in a story living out the brutal fantasies of a mad man? Or can freewill save them from the clutches of a gruesome destiny?

Starring: Leah Rudick, Samantha Glovin, Jeff Foley, Lauren Maslanik, Bradley Creanzo, Steve Buja, Alexander Kollar, and Andrew Saunders

Written by: Michael Hall and Robert J. Huntley

Directed by: Michael Hall

From the director:

Where did the idea for this film come from? Why a sequel?
The 80’s had a great tradition of slasher film sequels and it seemed like a natural progression to extend Kids Get Dead. USA's Up All Night with Rhonda Shear was a very influential show for me growing up. It really was my introduction to horror and exploitation films. This, along with Tales From The Crypt and The Twilight Zone, really inspired me to include hostess segments in my films. All those cheesy puns and whacky characters still make me smile to this day. In addition to being a little love note paying homage to hosts of the past, I think it adds a great dynamic to a horror film genre often forgotten.

EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL jumps into crowd-funding for Official Live CD

EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL Gives Fans the Chance to Make CD a Reality

Highly-anticipated live CD to be released by EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL this year

LAS VEGAS - June 23, 2014 - Evil Dead the Musical has been celebrating its two year milestone at Planet Hollywood's V Theater with special performances, discounts on tickets, and the announcement of the show's upcoming live CD.

The show is turning its interactive energy into a CD that includes live audiences reacting to the show. Recently the production kicked off a campaign to raise funds to finalize the project.

"Fans have been a part of this process since we started it," says the show's producer and director Sirc Michaels, "And it makes perfect sense to include them in the process of bringing the CD to life."

Highlights of the upcoming CD include:
1. All major songs from the show
2. Dialogue and scenes within the show to give context to the songs
3. Audience interaction and lines shouted during the recorded performances

Las Vegas' production of EVIL DEAD is the first staging of the show to be granted permission to create a CD. Rather than have it be a studio recording like the original Off-Broadway cast recording, the team behind the Las Vegas show felt instead that a live CD would give listeners an understanding of the energy and audience reaction to the show, making them feel they were there watching it.

"We want people to be able to close their eyes and visualize what is happening on stage," says Sirc Michaels, "And we feel very strongly that we have succeeded."

How much material is on the CD will be determined by how much money the production can raise through its IndieGogo campaign. The show is looking to raise $10,000 to offset the costs of creating the CD, and increasing what can be included on the CD.

The campaign and details on how to support it can be found here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/evil-dead-official-live-cd
