HOLLYWOOD,
CA (October 8, 2013) – The hype continues for the upcoming, semi-dark,
zombie-comedy, with the announcement today that Michael Nouri, best known from
the 1983 blockbuster Flashdance and most recently The Proposal, NCIS, The O.C.,
Damages, and All My Children has joined Acting Dead, an independent television
series from award-winning New Media producers Brian Beacock and Susan Bernhardt
Nouri
will be playing Xavier Lebeaux, a scattered, occasionally dangerous, over the
top “zombie” actor who's been "playing the living" successfully his
entire career. As the series begins production this weekend, Nouri will be
working side by side with series star and creator Brian Beacock who stated
“Michael is simply going to kill it. He's a brilliant actor and incredibly
funny - I'm thrilled he's a part of the show!”
Nouri
joins an impressive group of talent including Beacock, his co-lead Jillian
Clare, plus series regulars Chris Galya, Patrika Darbo, Paul Nygro and John
Yelvington. Previously announced guest stars include Eric Martsolf (portraying
Kennedy Mansfield – director of Xavier's new movie), Carolyn Hennesy, John J.
York, Cocoa Brown, Christine Lakin, Lori Alan, Erin Matthews, Gary and Larry
Lane, Peter Allen Vogt, Sheila Sheila and Mitch Silpa.
Acting
Dead is
a semi-dark comedy about Zombies, set in the world of Hollywood. The series
begins production on October 12th and will be shooting an eight episode first
season with plans to initially air online. Funny, quirky and weird, Acting
Dead
has brains and an appetite for sarcasm and satire. Imagine Arrested Development
meets Shawn of the Dead with an occasional shout out to Romero. It's fast paced
and smart, and so ridiculous you're sure to have the time of your afterlife.
The Zombie series has just one week left on their crowd funding
campaign, but still needs help, with perks beginning at just $4.00. To join the
