Carolyn
Hennesy latest star set to join Acting Dead
Emmy
nominated vixen tapped for mystery woman in Zomedy series
HOLLYWOOD,
CA (October 1, 2013) – Fans of HBO's True Blood rejoice – Carolyn Hennesy is
stepping back into the horror genre - this time with Zombies! Hennesy is
the latest star to be cast in the upcoming semi-dark, zombie-comedy, Acting
Dead, an
independent television series from award-winning New Media producers Brian
Beacock and Susan Bernhardt.
“I've
know Carolyn for quite some time now, and have always been a big fan of her
work” said Acting Dead Producer Susan Bernhardt. “She has the perfect combination
of wit and fierce glamour for this integral role in the story.” Hennesy is set
to guest star as Dr. Ivana Wurshter, the mysterious woman behind the
zombie-actor producing company, Flatline Inc.. Creator and star Brian Beacock
added “Carolyn is incredibly funny, quick on her feet and will be amazing in
this role. She's got the sex appeal, the comedic chops and an air of mystery
and playful danger that's going to make Dr. Wurshter such a memorable
character.”
Carolyn
joins previous announced stars from the soap world including Acting Dead lead Jillian Clare
(Days of Our Lives), co-star Patrika Darbo (Days of Our Lives) plus guest stars
Eric Martsolf (Days of Our Lives) and John J. York (General Hospital), her GH
co-star of many years. Ironically, Carolyn also appears regularly on Disney's
Jessie as Mrs. Rhoda Chesterfield alongside Acting Dead series regular Chris Galya,
the on again-off again boyfriend of the title character.
Acting
Dead is
a semi-dark comedy about Zombies, set in the world of Hollywood. The series
begins production on October 12th and will be shooting an eight episode first
season with plans to initially air online. Funny, quirky and weird, Acting
Dead
has brains and an appetite for sarcasm and satire. Imagine Arrested Development
meets Shawn of the Dead with an occasional shout out to Romero. It's fast paced
and smart, and so ridiculous you're sure to have the time of your afterlife.
The
Zombie series has just over two weeks left on their crowd funding campaign, but
still needs help, with perks beginning at just $4.00. To join the Acting
Dead
crowd funding campaign team, or learn more about the show, visit http://igg.me/at/ad
