Bangor Haunted: Stephen King's Derry

Welcome to Stephen King’s Bangor; A journey through Derry Maine.
Walk through the streets of Bangor to see, touch and experience the city’s landmarks that reveal the motivation for Stephen King’s horror. Eerie feelings of dread follow as you walk in the shoes of King’s heroes and evil doers. But take care; the line that separates Derry and Bangor can often become blurred.

Many of King’s 50 plus novels are set in the fictional town of Derry. However we fans of King and the residents of Bangor Maine know that Derry is not entirely fictional. Derry shares more than a passing resemblance to his home town of Bangor.

Many landmarks and locations mentioned in this book and over twenty more are actual places in Bangor, where the towns most famous resident, acquired his inspiration.

So read on and I’ll show you the real Derry, where the evil and malevolence that spawned sales in excess of 350 million. Just be careful and remember what Mr Gray found when he came looking for the Thomas Hill Standpipe in King’s 2001 novel Dreamcatcher; A plaque to those lost in the 1985 Derry storm. The plaque had been vandalised, with graffiti reading; “PENNYWISE LIVES”

A Haitian bokor mentors two teens in the dark arts. Their spells backfire.

Lucien Nazaire flees his Haitian homeland and meanders around the United States for decades. He settles in a Wisconsin trailer park filled with elderly tenants. He meets Jake and hires him for odd household jobs. As their relationship progresses, Lucien invites the boy into the world of Voodoo.

Jake LaRue lives in foster care with his abusive uncle. The Voodoo lessons give him a sense of power within an otherwise helpless situation. Despite his loner status, he instantly connects with Henry, his only friend in high school.

Henry Novak has Asperger’s Syndrome. He fixates on historical events, most recently the 2010 Haitian earthquake. Like Jake, he becomes passionate about the dark side of Voodoo. They learn how to cast spells on those they hate and lust, leading up to dire consequences.

Months after the Haitian earthquake, Henry convinces his family to volunteer for the island's reconstruction. Their mission turns into a nightmare when he mysteriously walks off of the campsite.

Blood Reunion Premiere

The feature film, Blood Reunion, will have its world premiere on December 10, 2012 at the historic Texas Theatre in Dallas, Texas. The premiere will be the first, and only public screening prior to the DVD release scheduled for early 2013.

The film is the third feature produced by long time Texas filmmaker Jim DeVault. The film is a vampire story of a more traditional style than audiences have been subjected to in recent years, drawing inspiration from the early Hammer series of the 60's and 70's.

The cast is comprised mostly of Dallas and Ft Worth actors, except for actress Paula Marcenaro Solinger who made the trip from Houston to play an evil vampire out for revenge on the priest (Richard Houghton) who imprisoned her in her grave for fifteen years. Paula is the wife of rocker Johnny Solinger, who also supplied some music for the production. Also in the film are April Hartman, who had a smaller, but very effective part as a torture victim in DeVault's The Fun Room, and talented young actress Gracie Whitton, who also has parts in the upcoming Scary Movie 5 and The Prodigal.

The film was produced on a small budget, as most of DeVault's projects have been so far, but he and his team have become known for being able to turn out a good film with very little money. "If you're looking for a splatter-fest," DeVault says, " Blood Reunion might not be what you're after, but if you like a good old school vampire story, I think you'll be quite satisfied." DeVault is already planning a shooting sequel in 2013 (maybe two) and a zombie/slasher project, Jebadiah's Axe, in June with Florida actress Deborah Funes.

Coven of Celsus

A copy of the book signed by Randy V.
A life sized display replica of the werewolf forearm and hand
A limited edition poster signed by the illustrator
A life sized latex replica of werewolf 2.0 head

Anyone of these rewards could be yours for making a pledge to…

Coven of Celsus is a dark, sexy vampire story written as a terrifying novel by Randy V.  With the author’s collaboration, filmmaker Jeff Wager is turning this into a richly textured, intense, and thrilling film.

They have already found a great location at the Wilson Castle near Rutland, VT, and have the cast and crew rolling.

Oh… and I almost forgot to mention that they have Werewolf 2.0! Yes, that's right! It's an animatronic, remote - controlled werewolf suit, that is worn by an actor; with a moving jaw, eyes, and snarling ability. This is a Hollywood quality build. Cheesy efx are not in the cards!

Don’t let the Werewolf 2.0 go to waste. Please help keep the cameras rolling by supporting this campaign today!

And here’s a closer look at the book the movie will be based on…

Elizabeth feels that she was born in the wrong place at the wrong time, and she has always wondered why. One day, during the week of finals, she crosses paths with a mysterious man called Celsus, who knows all the answers to her questions.

Although they have just met, Celsus orders Elizabeth to wear a dark purple satin choker the next time they get together. When she asks why, he tells her, “You’ll know soon enough.”

Though she does not know it, Elizabeth has been chosen as a “Coven Candidate.” But in order to fulfill her duties as an initiate, she must completely submit to Celsus. As she learns her place, she falls in love with the beautiful women of the coven, all carrying bizarre individual powers of their own.

Entranced, Elizabeth quickly succumbs to the pleasures of the House of Celsus, but there are secrets she has yet to learn. She has entered a world of vampires, sadism, bondage, and murder, and soon, she will be fighting for her very life.

Explore a world of sex, sadism, and control in the Coven of Celsus: Elizabeth.
