About Jack Thomas Smith:

Jack Thomas Smith made his feature film-directing debut with the psychological thriller “Disorder.” He was also the writer and producer of that film. “Disorder” was released on DVD by Universal/Vivendi and New Light Entertainment. It was released on Pay-Per-View and Video-On-Demand by Warner Brothers. Overseas, it screened at the Cannes Film Festival and the Raindance Film Festival in London. Curb Entertainment represented “Disorder” for foreign sales and secured distribution deals around the world.

Born in 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Smith lived there until he was eight when his family relocated to a quiet island community in Michigan, which would later serve as the inspiration for his upcoming film “In the Dark.” He began to write at a very young age after reading the Stephen King novels “Salem’s Lot” and “The Shining.” By the time he was eleven, he had written a 300-page novel and a number of short stories.

Smith’s family moved to Sparta, New Jersey when he was a teenager. It was there in that middle-class town that he discovered the films of George A. Romero, Stanley Kubrick, Brian DePalma, and John Carpenter. Inspired to make movies, he wrote and directed a handful of short films that were shot on Super 8mm and starred his brother and friends in all of the roles.

As a young adult, Smith produced films for noted horror directors Ted Bohus and John Russo, co-creator of “Night of the Living Dead.” From that point on, it was only a matter of time for his growth as a filmmaker to expand.

Smith’s current project he calls “Infliction” is a dark and disturbing assembled footage film that documents two brothers’ 2011 murder spree in NC and the horrific truth behind their actions. “Infliction” opened in select theaters across the country earlier this year and is now available on DVD, VOD, and Digital HD in the U.S. and Canada by Virgil Films & Entertainment.

Smith’s production company, Fox Trail Productions, Inc., is currently developing the action/horror film “In the Dark”, the drama “Illegals”and the comedy “Ties that Bind.”

About The Cast:

Jason Mac as “John Stiles”

Born and raised in South Carolina, Jason Mac was more of an athlete than an actor. He excelled at tennis while in high school and continued to play at Wofford College, where he received a degree in Finance. He was also a member of the track, rifle, and cross country teams.

After graduation, Mac became the sales director for a microbrewery and traveled up and down the East Coast. It was during those trips that he connected with a growing clothing company and began doing print ads. That served as a gateway for Mac to be in front of the camera, except he wasn’t satisfied just taking pictures.

Feeling a deep need to tell a story, he focused on a career in acting and auditioned for independent and student films. He literally sold everything he owned and traveled all over the Southeast, shooting any and every film, big or small, paid or non-paid.

Since 2011, Mac’s had roles on television shows including “The Vampire Diaries” (CW), “Necessary Roughness” (USA), “Revolution” (NBC), “Drop Dead Diva” (Lifetime), “The Second Generation Wayans” (BET), “Castle” (ABC), “Criminal Minds” (CBS), and “NCIS: Los Angeles” (CBS).

He can be seen in three other feature films that will hit the festival circuit and distribution later this year. Mac plays the lead character in the upcoming drama “People Not Humans.” In “The Ghost Club”, he is part of an ensemble cast that includes veteran actor William Forsythe. He also plays Chuck Bingley in “Before The Fall”, which is a modern take on the Jane Austen novel “Pride and Prejudice.”

Elliott Armstrong as “Kenny Stiles”

Elliott Armstrong began acting as a young child in musical theater in his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. He continued to pursue acting at James Madison University, where he wrote and performed in school productions.

Following college, Armstrong remained active in local theater and film projects in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia as well as other areas of the Southeast.

Armstrong moved to Los Angeles in 2012. He has appeared in national IHOP and HP commercials and has a supporting role in the upcoming independent feature “JackRabbit 29” directed by Kyle Klubal.

His television work includes the Lifetime original movie “Love at the Christmas Table”, “General Hospital”, and “American Horror Story.”

Ana Shaw as “Andrea”

Ana Shaw wanted to act for as long as she had an imagination.

Born and raised in Tennessee, she began acting onstage in high school when she played the part of Helena in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” She continued to pursue acting at the University of Tennessee, where she received a degree in Theater.

After graduation, Shaw relocated to Charlotte, NC when she was cast in the feature film “Timing.” She has since appeared in numerous independent films and theater productions across the Southeast and currently resides in Atlanta, GA.

Her film credits include “Because You’re Too Nice”, “40 Fears”, and “Three For Dinner.”

Her theater credits include “Lysistrata” and “Elegy For A Lady.”

Shaw is currently working on the second season of the web series “Social Anxiety.”

Catherine Trail as “Patti Stiles”

Catherine Trail was born the daughter of a coal miner in the hills of Kentucky. As a child, her family relocated to the small town of New Lexington, Ohio, where she would later discover her passion for acting while in a high school play.

Trail has since performed in a variety of community and church theater productions and has appeared in numerous regional and national commercials.

In film, she has proven her versatility as an actress. Trail played a Bible-thumping Jesus-freak in the comedy “Quite A Conundrum”, a nasty, murderous woman in “The Gritters”, and the devastated mother of a teenage girl killed while texting behind the wheel in “I’m Sorry.” She has also appeared in “My name is Paul”, “Virtuous”, and “One Church.”

In 2008, Trail won Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film “Death, Taxes, and Chocolate” at the New York International Independent Film Festival.
