Church Hill Production & Apothecary Entertainment Release
Los
Angeles/October 2, 2014 - Movie star ...Marilyn assassinating zombies?
That’s the premise of Marilyn: Zombie Hunter, the upcoming horror/thriller/action
film from the producing team behind the award winning film Lazarus: Day of The Living Dead (now
available OnDemand, PPV, streaming. With DVD/BluRay in December).
With
a seriously monstrous crowd funding campaign kicking off _10/1/2014__,
Writer/Director Thomas J. Churchill (The Emerging Past Director's Cut, Syfy’s Monster
Man, Church's Hollywood Moments Radio Show) and producing partner David M. Parks (Lazarus:DOTLD, The Emerging Past Director's Cut) plan to satisfy the
appetite of all serious action/horror fans who contribute. Cool perks
such as one-of-a-kind merchandise, roles in the film, and even ownership at
some levels, are sure to get an audience heavily behind this film.
Directed
by Churchill from a script he penned with horror author Joe Knetter,
the film has also secured model/actress Sarah French to play Marilyn - the
iconic blonde bomb-shell movie star turned assassin. Parks will produce
this project along with Ignazio Panepinto (Once Upon a Time in Queens, The Emerging Past
Director's Cut)
and David Rodriguez (American Bully, Once Upon Time in Queens).
Special
FX will be created and handled by Roy Knyrim and
his Sota FX company.
This will mark the third time Knyrim & Churchill has worked together.
When
discussing his inspiration for Marilyn: Zombie Hunter, Churchill toyed with the
concept of featuring this Hollywood icon as a cool samurai sword-weilding,
kick-ass assassin summoned by our President as humanities' last hope against
zombie domination. “I needed to get it out of my head, onto paper and on the
screen. The film will be a straight-up horror-thriller with no room for
‘cheese’." While on the set of Lazarus, Churchill and Parks
had a conversation in which the concept was fleshed out. From that point, Parks
created concept art which Churchill leaked to his websites and soon lead to an
internet frenzy. Reactions to this unique idea were incredibly positive.
“Horror and Marilyn fans will be proud of the vision we have in
store. Think Kill Bill meets Buffy The Vampire
Slayer," Churchill
explained. "They will be very surprised and very pleased with the
story we plan to tell." Aside from French being attached to the
project, Churchill is tight lipped on the rest of the cast, speculating that
the cast could include many A-list celebrities.
