July
27th, 2015 --- Denver, CO -- The Chaney family name is
synonymous with the history of genre film. They have been entertaining us for
decades, portraying classic characters such as the Phantom of the Opera, the
Hunchback of Notre Dame, the Wolf Man, the Mummy, Dracula, and many more.
Today, their name is alive and well with Ron Chaney in film roles, such as
"Coffin Baby," and "The House of Wolf Man."
To
pay tribute to these genre film icons, the Mile High Horror Film Festival
welcomes Ron Chaney to this year's festival. He will be presented with two
posthumous Lifetime Achievement Awards paying tribute to his great-grandfather,
Lon Chaney Sr., and his grandfather, Lon Chaney, Jr. Following the award
ceremony and Q&A, the festival will screen a special 90thanniversary
presentation of "The Phantom of the Opera," with live musical
accompaniment from festival veteran, Paul Buscarello.
You
won't want to miss this unique opportunity to celebrate one of horror's most
prestigious families in a way only the Mile High Horror Film Festival can!
This
year's festival takes place Oct. 1-4 at the Alamo Drafthouse in
Littleton, Colorado and includes over 90 genre films along with celebrities,
