GUARDIAN
AND LIGHTNING JOIN FORCES FOR “TURKEY SHOOT” AT AMERICAN FILM MARKET
Guardian
Entertainment International and Lightning Entertainment Introduce Jon Hewitt’s
High-Octane Action “Turkey Shoot” Starring Dominic Purcell, Viva Bianca,
Belinda McClory, and Robert Taylor
Los
Angeles, CA – November 3, 2014 – Guardian Entertainment International, in
collaboration with Lightning Entertainment, announced today that it has
acquired world sales rights to Jon Hewitt’s high-octane action “Turkey
Shoot” starring Dominic Purcell (“Gridlocked”, ”Straw Dogs”,
“Prison Break”), Viva Bianca (“X: Night of Vengeance,” “Spartacus:
Blood and Sand”) Belinda McClory (“The Matrix,” “X: Night of Vengeance”),
and Robert Taylor (“Longmire,” “Rogue”, “The Hard Word”). The
announcement was made by Richard S. Guardian.
Guardian
Entertainment International, in association with Lightning Entertainment, will
be introducing the film to international buyers at the upcoming AFM, where it
will have its market debut.
Directed
by Jon Hewitt (“X: Night of Vengeance,” “Acolytes,” “Redball”), who wrote the
screenplay alongside Belinda McClory, “Turkey Shoot” is produced by Antony I.
Ginnane (“Screamers,” “Patrick,” “Harlequin”) and executive produced by William
Fayman (“Patrick,” “Harlequin”), Richard S. Guardian (“The Reef,” “Healing”),
Anthony J. Lyons, Brian Trenchard-Smith (“In Her Line of Fire,” “Deathstone”),
Mark Spratt and Peter de Rauch.
“Turkey
Shoot” is based on Trenchard-Smith’s 1984 cult classic feature film of the same
name. Packed with mayhem, stunts and special effects, the film is a
warped reflection of the global fascination with increasingly brutal
reality-television competition game shows.
The
film centers around a not-so-distant future smash hit live reality TV show that
combines a stalk-and-chase adventure with the ultimate twist… death.
In
the wake of a shocking civilian massacre in a foreign war zone,
disgraced former Navy Seal Rick Tyler (Dominic Purcell) is sentenced to
rot in a maximum-security military prison. He is offered the
opportunity to put his life on the line to win his freedom by
participating in the world's most widely-watched live television game show
competition, ‘Turkey Shoot’! Tyler will have to take on some of the
world's most ruthless killers in order to win his freedom and clear his
name, exposing the ultimate government cover up.
In addition to “Turkey Shoot,” Lightning’s international sales slate
includes the comedy “Preggoland” (starring Sonja Bennett and James Caan), drama
“Bravetown” (starring Lucas Till, Josh Duhamel, Maria Bello, and Laura Dern),
horror/thrillers “Indigenous,” “Dark House,” “The Pack,” dramatic thriller “Ask
Me Anything” (starring Britt Robertson), and “Healing” (starring Hugo Weaving).
