The
Wireless Theatre Company was today awarded the USA Gold Ogle Award for the
acclaimed second series of The Springheel Saga: The Legend of Springheel’d
Jack, by The American Society For Science Fiction Audio (ASFSFA), as part of
this year’s Mark Time Awards.
The ASFSFA Mark Time judging panel praised The Legend of Springheel’d
Jack for being “well-crafted, ambitious” radio drama, awarding the series Best
Fantasy/Horror Audio Production of the Year.
Featuring,
in a cast of nineteen actors, the vocal talents of Christopher Finney, Jessica
Dennis, Andrew Shepherd, John Holden-White, Josephine Timmins, Neil McCormack,
Jeremy Stockwell, Ashley McGuire, Silas Hawkins, David Benson and radio legend
and British national treasure Nicholas Parsons, the second series has been
downloaded by fans from www.wirelesstheatre.co.uk, and heard by listeners in
over fifty countries across the world.

Robert Valentine and Jack Bowman stated: “Our thanks to ASFSFA for this award.
We’re delighted that they have chosen to acknowledge the word and efforts of
all of those involved in the second series of The Springheel Saga, both in

The
Springheel Saga: The Legend of Springheel’d Jack will be heard at this year’s
ConVergence convention (Minneapolis, USA), and has also been selected for the
HEAR Now Festival (Kansas City, USA), the Grand Prix Nova (Bucharest, Romania).
It is also currently in contention for a Best Podcast Series nomination at this
year’s Geekie Awards (Los Angeles, USA), while the production team have
been invited to be part of this year’s historic 72nd World Science Fiction
Convention (London, UK).
