Speak No Evil is the story of Anna, a single mother
fighting to protect her daughter from demonically possessed children and a town
gone mad.
Playing the lead role in Speak No Evil is
break out star Gabrielle Stone 23, the daughter of "Scream Queen" Dee
Wallace (E.T, Cujo, Lords of Salem) and actor Christopher
Stone. Stone appeared in five feature films in 2012 and is scheduled to film
two movies in 2013. "I have been acting for a few years but this is still
a surprise." said Stone, who is a professional choreographer, "But I
guess I was destined, in a way, to follow my Mom. I hope I prove to deserve her
talent and support."
"I believe audiences will be blown away by
Gabrielle's performance," said Speak No Evil Director,
Roze. "She captured all the emotion of the script and the feelings we
imagine a mother to have for a daughter. Quite a feat for someone that
young." continued Roze. " I really enjoyed getting to work with her,
and drawing out even more than I hoped for... It would be awesome to see her in
another one of my movies."
The film also stars Mario Guzman, Carl Jensen IV and
introduces 14 year old Olivia Cavender as the daughter.
Speak
No Evil took away the Best Horror Feature award at the annual Jerome Indie Film
and Music Festival on June 16, 2013. The film, which was shot entirely in
Arizona was written, produced and directed by innovative filmmaker, Roze.
"It is always an honor to be recognized for your work but I am especially proud to have made a movie that both critics and fans enjoy." said Roze. "We just started a summer tour to promote the film and Jerome was our very first festival. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome or better festival experience."
Icons of Fright describe the second half of the movie
“as uncomfortable (in the best way) and intense as it gets,” and says “SPEAK NO
EVIL really hits an emotional chord and never lets up, keeping you on board as
the story plays out in front of you.” Read the full review here.
Killer Kalyn has this to say about Gabrielle Stone,
“effortlessly striking as the distraught mother Anna, willing to go as far as
it takes to return her daughter to safety. Her flawless performance executes a
higher level of filmmaking that makes Speak No Evil‘s
impact all the more powerful.” She also says, “Altogether, Speak No Evil
is worth checking out. The slow build-up, along with the ever-more-increasingly
rare use of practical effects give this supernatural thriller an old school,
creepily unsettling presence that allows it to stand out amongst the many
exorcism films today.” Read the full review here.
