NOTES
Last
year we (Hats Off Gentlemen It’s Adequate) had great fun making a music video
with the Cowboy Surfers - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZM3SQ_FdiI&feature=youtu.be.
We
then made a couple of short films (Badgergeddon and Mask) - http://youtu.be/DfREuqIrwtw; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-Uv7YWUY1M),
written and directed by Malcolm Galloway (singer/guitarist of HOGIA) and
featuring our drummer Rudy Burrell.
We
then thought we’d have a go at making a feature length, ultra-low budget
comedy-horror film Rock Band Vs Vampires. Jeremiah Winterford, an old-school
vampire, has had his mansion burned down and most of his clan killed by a
rival. He is persuaded by his PA to move temporarily to Camden, the heart
of the London music scene, to turn new acolytes.
Sorcerer's
Tower, a local unsuccessful proggy rock band find themselves invited to
headline at the re-opening night of Angelfish, a Camden venue now under new
management...
We’ve
now got a team of about 120 volunteers, and are about to start filming this
month.
Our
cast includes:-
Dani
Thompson (the star of many horror films, and well known to the readers of
British lads’ mags as a leading model - http://www.dani-thompson.co.uk), Loren Peta, Guy Barnes, Faye Sewell, Jake Rundle, Paul Law Beaumont, Frankie
May, Dean Kilby, Chris Smith, Hatice Moran, Kasey Sfetsios, Amy
Jaxon, Holly Boeva, Ashley Brown, Ami Lloyd, Lila Hurst,
Vauxhall Jermaine, Alex Hardman, Siegfrid Calizio, Taliesyn
Mitchell, Clara-Jade Stevens, Paloma Marisal, Giles Spencer, as well
as celebrity cameos including Giles Brandreth.
Hats
Off Gentlemen It’s Adequate’s singer/songwriter/guitarist Malcolm Galloway is
the writer and director, and will be writing the film music. Music from Hats
Off Gentlemen It’s Adequate’s debut album ‘Invisible’ will be featured in the
film.
Our locations include legendary London music venues The Underworld
(Camden) and The Underbelly (Hoxton).

Their
debut single in 2012, “Wait For The Storm”, was described by AltSounds as
“David Gilmore-esque… like a depressed Cat Stevens… GO BUY IT” , and by Captain
Captain Industries as having “fantastic vocals… a fresh new flavor
from this ground-breaking group”.
"Cross-Genre
Song Builders from London - I think the reason I like these guys so much is
because when I first listened to "While I Still Can," I was instantly
brought back to prog rock haze of the mid-1970s. Don't get me wrong; I say that
in a most reverent way. The bluesy vocals, the wailing guitar solos, the
crashing percussion, and damn, that seriously rockin' flute (Flautist Kathryn
Thomas of the award-winning Galliard Ensemble is to credit here - making it
impossible not to elicit sweet Jethro Tull flashbacks)… it's all just so
comfortingly familiar. And yet, modern production values and all the musical
history and life history since that time influence their sophisticated sound.
Though the lyrics can at times be rather dark and depressing, the music feels
defiant and celebratory. In quieter moments, it's very pretty. Though I felt
the need to immediately trumpet the unabashed prog rock of this fine band, I
must say that they are not strictly beholden to any style.” - Julie Stoller, Ryan's Smashing Life - Music and Entertainment blog (Feb 04, 2013)
