Fright Meter Awards Organization is excited to announce that the 2013 Fright
Meter Awards will be presented live for the first time ever! The awards
will be presented February 22nd, 2014 at Pensacon in Pensacola, Florida.
Pensacon
is a multi-genre convention for fans of horror, sci-fi, comics, anime, gaming,

Attention
Filmmakers: The Fright Meter Awards will be adding a new category to the 2013
Awards: Best Short Horror Film. We are seeking submissions to be
considered for this award. To be eligible, your film must be submitted to a
film festival between December 1st, 2012 and November 13th, 2013. The
Fright Meter Awards will be presented LIVE in February of 2014! If you
are interested in having your short film considered, please contact us
Film
Eligibility:
The eligibility requirement for a film to be eligible for the 2013
Fright Meter Award is that it must have had its UNITED STATES theatrical, DVD,
or television (if made for television) release anytime between December 1st,
2012 to November 30th, 2013. Some of the nominees in a given year were
released overseas either in the prior year, or in some cases, two or three
years earlier. However, we are concerned, for our awards, with when
it was released in the United States.
Beginning
in 2013, Fright Meter Awards will be presented in the following categories:
Best
Horror Movie, Best Director, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actress in a
Leading Role, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Actress in a Supporting
Role, Best Screenplay, Best Make Up, Best Special Effects, Best Score, Best
Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Short Horror Film
Some
of this year’s potential nominees include: American Mary, Evil Dead, John Dies
at the End, No One Lives, Stoker, The Last Exorcism 2, and The Lords of Salem.
Some
potential nominees for short films include: 15-05-08, Baby-Sitting, Killer
Kart, Girl at the Door, and The Earth Rejects Him.
