Update and poster art for puppet horror film "Head"

Back on October 8, Elmwood Productions met their goal plus a little extra for their Kickstarter campaign for their horror project "Head." $3,300 of a $3,000 goal was made! The money going towards this project will go towards our any extra production costs (paying ourselves back for equipment purchased), post production costs, marketing, and distribution for HEAD. Also, we will take the remaining money to purchase more supplies and new equipment to keep Elmwood Production going. Video and filmmaking technology is ever evolving, getting even better every day, and we have been self-financing our projects for over a decade.

Principal photographey has wrapped.

"Head" directed by Jon Bristol.

Premise: Four twenty-somethings go for a weekend camping trip in remote New England, only to discover that the land on which they're staying was the site of a brutal mass murder years ago.

In a throwback to 1970's B-Horror Films the only way Elmwood Productions knows how… with Puppets!

So, what is Elmwood Productions?

Elmwood Productions is a film production group from Plainville, Connecticut that specializes in puppetry. In the time leading up to HEAD, we have created series (Mr. Universe & Don, Steve the Vampire, G@mrz, Animal Behavior) and shorts (The Walking Path, Mommy, Where Does Candy Come From?, The First Kiss).  We even produced a 15 minute live show that opened for The Wham City Comedy Tour this past February.

HEAD will be Elmwood’s second feature film; in 2008, we made Josh and Todd: The Story of A Man and His Puppet.

What is HEAD?

HEAD is a throwback to the 70's and 80's Grindhouse B-horror film. What could be better than a weekend camping retreat with your friends? What could be worse than finding out the woods where you’re setting up camp was the site of a brutal mass murder from the decade before? Four young men and women are about to find out more than they ever bargained for in HEAD. Instead of playing it with human actors, we are shooting with puppets (because we’re Elmwood). However, we are using puppets outside of the conventional “puppet” world. They are not “puppets” in this film – they are people. When is the last time you saw a puppet play it straight?  Principal photography is wrapped, and we hope to have the film ready in early 2015
