One
moment Adam Coy holds the lives of a family at the flick of lighter, and the
next someone else holds his inside of the Douglas Residence. Worse, he's not
alone.
Five
others with similar murderous backgrounds find themselves confined to the
Douglas Residence, wondering what will happen next and if the owner of the
house is a bigger threat than they are to each other. The Douglas Residence has
seen many generations from the rich and respected to the greedy and degenerate.
All six individuals have heard of the stories that made the house infamous in
Raven's Crook, Chase County. Their only hope of survival is remaining cohesive.
That's assuming there's a chance for survival at all.
Will the house bring them to the same fates of their victims, or will
they tear each other apart first?
Here
is one of the early reviews for C.M. Humphries' debut novel:
“Excluded
has one of the creepiest prologues I've actually read. I normally skimmed by
them, but I'm glad the first line snagged my attention. This is the kind of
novel for all mature horror audiences…
It
would be nice to see a print edition out there and maybe a future works section
in the back. Either way, this is the kind of horror people actually want to
read, not that sort of stuff that's been so heavily saturated lately. These
aren't likable characters in the good versus bad guy sense. It's all bad guy
versus bad guy.
I enjoyed it. It's definitely a notable first novel."

Bought the book and was terrified out of my wits. You guys have to check out the ceiling fan incident. Unfortunately, I was reading that section while lying on my bed with the fan spinning.
