Vampires, James Franco and 7 For All Mankind: A Fall/Winter 2012 Campaign

7 For All Mankind teams up with James Franco for another multimedia campaign for Fall/Winter 2012, yet this season, he takes quite a different approach. Vampire imagery is extremely apparent throughout each episode, as Franco embraces the undead. Slightly haunting and often dark, his film pays tribute to the mystique of old Hollywood. Franco uses a desolate cemetery to paint the scene for episode 1, as devoted admirers of a fallen Hollywood star chant and conjure the impossible. In direct juxtaposition to the film’s dark nature, stands a comical introduction by James Franco, dressed in full vampire attire, with drag queen crony, Marc-Edouard Leon, at his side; Franco’s introduction sets the scene for the rest of the film.

Delving into certain rituals and legends involved with a fallen Hollywood star, Franco’s characters are played by modern day style icons that includeLily Donaldson, Cody Horn and Lou Doillon, in order to bring his vision to life. Teaming up the brand’s creative agency LIPMAN, Franco is back directing, editing and leading the photographic direction. The first installment of James Franco’s film, Hollywood Resurrection, is titled “Flowers for the Risen,” and seeks inspiration from everyone’s favorite creatures of the night.
