Skull Mugs

A spooky realistic skull mug cast in English finest bone china. Great for coffee, cold drinks and fun with tea lights and candles.

About a year ago I hit on the idea of the skull mug. I wanted to create a mug that really looked like a skull, something that was true to form and with lots of details. The light bulb moment was realising I could be a different by applying new technology and my modeling and mould making skills. It took both a traditional hands-on modeling, mixed with 3D CAD and 3D printing, to achieve the desired result.

The mug is an accurate take of a real human skull because I started with real skull scans and worked to retain as much of the form and detail when creating the mug shape. I repeatedly tested the shapes modelled in CAD software, 3D printing the results, again and again until I eventually got the elegant shape and form I sought. It took many prototype prints.

The mug is made from the best English white fine bone china and manufactured in the Potteries, Stoke-on-Trent, England.

Slayer

SLAYER is a short horror film that marries the classic 80’s Spielberg / Amblin genre film (Goonies, E.T., Poltergeist) with something much darker and more intense (Let the Right One In). It’s the story of eleven-year-old Kevin Grant - an inventive loner left in an adolescent limbo following the tragic death of his mother. One fateful night he witnesses the resurrection of an ancient evil in the form of a masked, scythe-weilding WICKED WITCH.

Mat and Myron Smith have just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help raise money to publish a novel based on characters from Young Blood: Evil Intentions. The movie features Butch Patrick (The Munsters), Lloyd Kaufman (Troma Ent.), Jamison Newlander (The Lost Boys) and other actors. Young Blood: Evil Intentions is currently available on DVD.

In 2012, they launched their first Kickstarter campaign to help fund our movie Young Blood: Evil Intentions. Now they are teaming up with the author, Stephen Mark Rainey, to bring something very special. They worked closely with Stephen Mark Rainey to create a novel based on characters from Young Blood: Evil Intentions. The characters have been expanded, so they are able to have more dimension. There are several segments that are in the book that were originally to be to include in the film, but had to cut due to time or budget restraints. The story promises to be true to the original, but it will be more in depth and offer plenty of surprises. Whether you are already a fan of Young Blood: Evil Intentions or if you are just finding out about it, the Young Blood novel is something horror fans will want to sink their teeth into.

Wasp-Men from Mars!

Wasp-Men From Mars! is a sci-fi short film inspired by the monster invasion flicks of the 1950’s but with the more modern sensibility of today’s sci-fi and horror.

It starts in 1959 with three teenagers on a stargazing trip that turns into an evening of heartbreak, jealousy, and sexual confusion — and then giant wasps from outer space invade Earth and make things even worse. The teens need to put their feelings aside if they're going to survive the night. (These are teenagers we’re talking about.)

Directors Statement

Wasp-Men From Mars! is my love letter to creature features.

My first exposure to these movies, like many people my age, was through Mystery Science Theater 3000. Yes, they were lampooned for their writing, acting, costumes, etc., but I admired them for trying to do something big on very little money and tackling important subjects like Communism and nuclear war by using rubber monsters. Plus, they were fun to watch, even without Joel, Mike, and the robots.

Sci-fi and horror have matured since then, but a lot of my favorite films and TV shows, likeTremors, Buffy, and The World's End, have been influenced by those earlier films. One of my favorite shows, Doctor Who, started as the BBC equivalent of those creature features, and carries on the rubber monster tradition to this day.

With Wasp-Men From Mars!, I hope to honor those earlier films and merge them with the sensibility of modern sci-fi/horror, where the monsters are used as a way to explore characters and their relationships in addition to giving them something to fight. My hope is that audiences will not only identify with our main characters, Suzie, James, and Timmy, but that the fun and spectacle of the film will encourage them to seek out the original creature features, like Invaders From Mars and THEM!

In the end I hope to create a short film that's fun, scary, overdramatic, and at its heart, very sincere. And with really cool Wasp-Men.
