Toxic Tutu

TOXIC TUTU is a mockumentary feature film that chronicles the emergence of Mark Torgl, who starred as Melvin the Mopboy in the legendary cult film classic "The Toxic Avenger"

After a thirty-year absence as the superhero and star of this Troma classic, a dark truth unfolds on-camera as Mark embarks upon a year-long journey into the monster convention circuit.

During this tour fans begin to speculate that the toxic wastes used on the set of the "Toxic Avenger" were real, causing concerns that Mark may have developed a hideous disfiguration, which, they surmise kept him in hiding all these years.

In Toxic Tutu you will discover secrets about occurrences that took place on the set of the original movie, and how this changed Mark's life forever. The film also honors Troma fans and strays into themes such as: sexual exploitation; being different; and gratuitous violence making certain to avoid boring, politically correct rhetoric about these themes.

The film contains documentary style interviews with fans and guest celebrities, original narrative scenes with a mock docudrama feel, a blend of original newsreel footage and commentary, still photos and archive material all precisely edited to reach a shocking Good vs Evil climax that is wicked and unanticipated.

You will find great moments of pleasure and titillation woven into the realism of this Toxic Tutu experience. So, brace yourself for the unexpected...

Mark Torgl is back!

Adam K

ADAM K. Principal Photography Almost Halted By Los Angeles Police  Principal Photography Was Nearly Shut Down By LAPD Interference But Survives To Come To Theaters And Home Video Soon!

Los Angeles, CA – March 18, 2014 – Writer and Director of the recently wrapped suspense/thriller ADAM K. and the upcoming 80's horror throwback AXEMAN (formerly Axeman At Cutter's Creek), Joston "El Rey" Theney announced today that the fact ADAM K. will be making it's way to theaters and home video at all is a miracle following a law enforcement incident that threatened to shut down production.

“It was wild,” Theney explained.  "We were filming a riveting sequence with two terrific actresses, Sarah Nicklin and Kristin Wall Wheatley, when the Los Angeles Police Department responded to their cries for help."  The writer/director reflects back on the harrowing experience, "Anytime a team of police responds with weapons drawn and all my actors are covered in the sticky red stuff, you have a recipe for disaster.  We'd even warned the neighbors of the production and taken precaution but no one knew Sarah's lungs carried so much power!  Neighbors from a different apartment building across the street were calling for cops!"  There is a moment of levity when he can take a breather from the excitement that was.  "But after a little explaining and a whole lot of poker-facing, I was able to convince the cops that all was well and that we were just doing a horror flick.  Nice to know that they truly are there when you need them.  Great response times!"

"But we did get the film done - in the can," the AXEMAN writer/director exclaimed.  "Even got some nifty BTS of cops and such.  It's easy to laugh now but certainly not then."  When pressed for release info, Theney responded, "Early Fall we'll have the Los Angeles premiere then a Bay Area showing.  Some festivals have reached out to us but we're only going to do about two or three those.  It's a great film, with an amazing cast.  You never know how rich you are until you have more than you need or deserve, and this wonderful team of actors and crew were more than I could've asked for and certainly better than I deserved.  Love them all and can't wait to see them on ADAM 2, which we start filming later this year."

ADAM K. is a gory take on the tale of nature versus nurture that proves - evil wears a smile!  Mild-mannered and seemingly good-natured auto insurance claims adjusters Adam Kraul sets out daily to make friends, however ends up with mutilated victims when his invitations for friendships are rejected.  The film stars Brinke Stevens, Arielle Brachfeld, Kristin Wall Wheatley, Sarah Nicklin, Jessica Cameron, Graham Denman and Dylan Hobbs.  Written, Directed and Produced by Joston "El Rey" Theney.

PHANTASM: RAVAGER Production Completed

FEAR FRANCHISE'S FEATURE FILM FINISHED SHOOTING

PHANTASM: RAVAGER

PRODUCTION COMPLETED
DON COSCARELLI WRITES & PRODUCES
DAVID HARTMAN DIRECTS
SHOWDOWN ON TALL MAN'S HOME WORLD

For Immediate Release (Hollywood, CA) ― Filmmaker Don Coscarelli announced today that PHANTASM: RAVAGER, the long-awaited fifth and final entry in his classic horror Phantasm series, has completed principle photography. The original Phantasm was a worldwide critical and boxoffice smash, spawning a huge cult of fans around the world and three well received sequels.

For the first time in the franchise's history, a new director is helming the production, one David Hartman. Hartman is a multiple Emmy-nominated animation director, whose work can be seen in such celebrated shows as Transformers Prime and Roughnecks: Starship Troopers. Serious genre fans have long been familiar with Hartman’s edgier output, including two blood-soaked music videos for Rob Zombie ("American Witch," and "Lords of Salem"), and his illustrations of Steve Niles' "Strange Cases" for Image Comics.

"I felt it was time to let someone else play with my train set," noted Coscarelli, who co-wrote the film with Hartman and produced the film under his Silver Sphere banner along with Executive Producer Brad Baruh. "David and I go back to my film Bubba Ho-Tep. He did terrific visual effects on that, and more recently created a wild animated sequence and some amazing visual effects in my most recent film, John Dies at the End. Our aesthetics are in sync and he's quite an experienced director in his own right," Coscarelli stated.

"Having worked with Don [Coscarelli] before, and being a huge fan of the entire Phantasm franchise, it was a great honor to do RAVAGER with him," says Hartman. "This film is a real turning point in the series. There's real closure for the core characters that I hope fans will respond to. We were fortunate to shoot amazing new sequences with horror icon Angus Scrimm—he has terrific scenes with Reggie (Bannister) and Mike (Michael Baldwin) that are truly powerful.”

Production on RAVAGER took place in and around southern California over the past two years. "The Phantasm films have been a guerrilla operation for decades now, totally outside of the studio system," Coscarelli notes. "We do them for the fans, and I think Ravager will definitely please them. In the past few years several studios have made offers to remake Phantasm with large budgets, but the fans were very vocal that they wanted the original cast to return and finish this iteration of the story with class. And for the first time there’s an extended sequence on the Tall Man’s home world. I know Phantasm fans will be as excited as I am to see it.”

RAVAGER features Reggie Bannister (a veteran of all five films) in his decades-long pursuit of the malevolent Tall Man, and it finally forces him to confront the mysteries at the heart of the Phantasm saga. The entire original cast is back including Michael Baldwin, Bill Thornbury, Kat Lester and Angus Scrimm, along with some great new characters. Coscarelli allows, “There are also some surprises thrown in that I promise will astonish long-time fans.”

EW.com has premiered a teaser trailer from the film. Check it out at: http://insidemovies.ew.com/2014/03/27/phantasm-5-ravager-trailer-exclusive/
