Incurable
Jesse, diagnosed with an STD, confronts her cheating husband, but he's hungry, attacks her, and tries to eat her. She fights for her life, a battle that doesn’t end by killing him. This STD makes AIDS seem no worse than a runny nose. As the virus spreads, the world falls into the chaos of riots, murder, and cannibalism. The disease is incurable, but Jesse finds a way to live with it...in a very tasty way.
Here are just a few of the great reviews this book is getting:
“De Cusack has crafted a horror journey that takes the reader through the horrific decline of a character who re-defines what we know of the zombie genre.
The reader is immediately drawn into a dark storyline that is mirrored by the dark futurism of her world - Blade Runner-world comparisons are certainly apt. The state of mind and emotional balance of our protagonist would make Philip K Dick smile from beyond the grave. It's a great journey and I'd encourage everyone to drop into it and enjoy it as I did. I'd like to think that we'll be seeing more stories from De Cusacks' universe.”
“New author Brandy De Cusack is one entertaining individual. Given her imagination, I have to say that she is not someone I would like to meet in a dark alley but if she keeps letting her mind run riot across the page then she is certainly going to be a writer to pay attention to in the future!
I love zombie stories but let's be honest, there is very little available that is truly original. Until now. De Cusack's take on the zombie tale is not exactly comfortable reading and I mean that in the most positive way possible. Her story of betrayed wife Jesse is a well crafted study in claustrophobic creepiness. It's one of those stories that compels you to turn the page, to read the next line, even though you know what is written there is going to make your skin crawl and certain unmentionable muscles tighten! That, in my opinion, is a skill to be admired. Tension. Only word good enough to describe what De Cusack creates. Add to the growing sense of terror and doom a well devised future world and we may be seeing what Blade Runner may have looked like had the replicants been sexually infected psychopaths...
A (skull) cracking read, an infectious style of writing, what more do you need to know? Give this story a go... if you're brave enough!”
'Incurable' is available on the Kindle (US), Kindle (UK), and Nook.

Skin Games: A Brutal Crime Drama
When a mafia princess falls for a two-bit hoodlum an unhappy don plays some rough games in order to separate the two lovers.
Sean O'Donnell is a man who always keeps his word, especially to a lady. His good-for-nothing old man left his mother flat. When she gets ill, Sean assures her that he will never be like his father; if he makes a promise he will keep it, no matter what the cost. When local mob boss Mario Torretta's daughter Nicole falls for Sean, the Don is not pleased, and makes it known that Sean is not good enough for his princess. However, Nicole is in love and begs Sean to stick by her. Once Sean gives his word, no amount of pressure from the Don will weaken his resolve. Sean will endure and persevere to keep his promise to Nicole, and to his mother.
“Skin Games” is a new release, and already getting great reviews like this one:
"SKIN GAMES is a study of friendship, love, and the power of true self-resolve. Pepper's realistic first-person narrative makes this a compulsive page-turner full of gritty-violence, seedy characters, and a satisfying conclusion that will leave you thirsting for more.
Similar to GOODFELLAS yet with its own voice, SKIN GAMES is a fine example of a self-published novel that's on par (or better) than anything in the crime/thriller genre coming from big house publishers. Mob fans DO NOT want to miss this."

The Game
Divorcee, Phillip McKenzie has invented the most anticipated online game ever and millions of gamers wait on servers for connection.
Struggling with life with her recovering junkie mother, Phillip’s daughter Lisa uses virtual reality to lose herself. The arrival of free access to the game from her father, together with the visor needed to play, gives her another avenue for escape.
However something dark is lurking in the game, a living virus, and when Lisa's brother Timmy is pulled into the VR World, she must play to save him.
With time running out, Phillip battles to overcome the virus, while Lisa and a group of gamers fight to save Timmy’s life. But not all gamers want to play the good guy, and the living virus has its own allies...She's desperate to get out of the VR world and destroy the existence of Man for their betrayal many, many years ago.
You die in this game, you die for real.
This sounds like a book perfect for horror fans, and gamers. Check out just a few of the great reviews this book has been getting:
“The Game is a state-of-the-art thriller that I tore through in two sittings. It is, in equal turns, chilling, exhilarating and revealing.
Being a gamer myself, I really appreciated the amount of authentic detail Pletzers has sunk into the story. He has, without a doubt, captured the sweaty-palmed, feverish intensity of VR. Made the moral and emotional dilemmas more real than real.
The premise may be futuristic, but the gritty subculture is firmly rooted in the here and now.
Highly, highly recommended!”
“Lee Pletzers's novel, The Game I just finished reading Lee Pletzers's novel, The Game, the ultimate horror novel for gamers. Not only was it packed with virtual horror excitement, but also with characters' situations that felt real. We get inside the head of a junkie hooker, an underage girl being raped by her coke-head mom's boyfriend and her subsequent horror at her little brother's abduction by the nemesis, a woman not human, and her huge demon slave ready to beat anyone into the dust who goes against his master's wishes. I've never read a novel like this before, and I definitely recommend it. Buy it when it comes out (it's not yet released) and you won't be sorry!”
“I have read this entire book. You guys and gals should read The Game and more important BUY THIS BOOK!!!
I'm actually kind of envious that Lee was able to do a book where the characters are inside a game. He came up with a realistic way that... it could happen. It's really cool. Honestly, I couldn't be more enthusiastic about a new book. Usually I read novels that have been out for more than 20 years. This book ranks with some of the very best novels that I have ever read.
Please people support one of the unknown guys and make him known.
The Game is a book that deserves to get some wide attention.
And wouldn't it be cool to have a video game made from this book about people trapped inside a video game.
Talk about screwing with your mind.
Playing that would be wild.”
Like the review says, “Buy this book!” It is available on the:
Kindle (US), Kindle (UK), and Paperback.

A Call For Help From "Scares That Care" (PR)
Once again PromoteHorror.com is calling on the horror community to help out a charity. Please read the following press release from “Scares That Care,” and do what you can to help support these families. At a minimum, please pass this promotion on to others, especially those who you can help this great charity! Thank you!
Scares That Care! Unites horror fans in 2012 to assist three families in need.
"Scares That Care!", an IRS approved 501(c)(3) charity, has designated a goal of raising $30,000 in 2012 to assist three families. "Scares That Care!" was originally founded to help sick children, but based on the support of the horror community has developed two additional programs to provide much needed support.
These two subsidiary programs - consisting of “Scares For Pairs,” where we help women fighting breast cancer, and the “I Helped Kane” program. This program provides assistance to children who have suffered serious burn injuries. We have partnered with horror icon Kane Hodder, to create this special program.
We have selected three families to assist in 2012, one for each program, We are hoping to raise $10,000 for each family.
Draven, who was born in July 2008 with hypo-plastic left heart syndrome – a severe heart defect where both chambers on the left side are under developed and do not pump blood. He needs a heart transplant, and your support for this brave little guy would be appreciated!
Madelyn, who has been battling Breast Cancer for the past two years. She is very brave in the face of her illness, but could still very much use your support.
Tripp and his father, who both suffered burns on over seventy percent of their bodies in a house fire. They have lost EVERYTHING on top of their horrific injuries, and ANY help for them is a blessing.
These families need our help - and the support of the horror community in general. Think about it...the financial and physical tolls they have endured have been tremendous. Lets come together and try to ease their pain, if only slightly, and let's show them that we - as horror fans and human beings - CARE.
If you have a few minutes to spare please check out our online shop, and know that 100% of all donations and proceeds go towards helping these families. You may choose which family you would like to help, or split your purchase between them all, that decision we leave to you.
Please also check out and "Like" our Facebook page for all the latest info on our Families, our Charity, contests, and auctions!
Thank you and remember, every little bit helps!
“Scares That Care!” is a 501(c)(3) IRS approved nonprofit organization that provides money, toys, and other items to help sick children. Founded by horror film director and retired police officer Joe Ripple, “Scares That Care!” is an all-volunteer organization, that utilizes the fan base of the horror, haunt, and Halloween genres to raise funds and awareness for those in need.
